Tuition for a vulnerable child to attend Glorious is $365 / year. This covers the expenses to both feed our children, and pay the teachers and staff working at our school. We do not assign children to donors in order to protect the privacy of the children and their families. All donations are routed into a pool of funding that is sent monthly to cover tuition for the most vulnerable students.
The mothers and female guardians of our children have the opportunity to put together a business plan, and seek a 6-month loan to start a small business. Once they are accepted, we invite them to a day long course with to go over their business plan and ensure they can pay back their loan. We work with the local municipalities and a lawyer to create a contract with each woman. Loans start at $150 and range to $500. Upon successful payback women can double or even triple their loan amount. The interest from these loans goes into a pool that continues to build and fund the loans for other women.
Our Widows Jewelry project employs women widowed by HIV and other causes. The women make beautiful jewelry that we buy from them at fair market value and then sell outside of Tanzania. Tanzania's average annual income is just $570 - through this project, these women can make $460/each in just one week. All proceeds from our sales go directly back into our school. Just a few years ago we were faced with serving a community operating entirely in survival mode. With your help, we are opening the doors of opportunity to the young and old alike. Already we have provided clean water access to 150 families per day, education to over 175 students, 2,000 weekly meals to our children and staff, employed over 20 women through our Widows project and micro-finance network and created over 20 jobs on our school staff. Your support will allow us to continue to expand our outreach, to feed and educate more children, create more jobs, and ensure that nobody in the community goes thirsty again. You have a chance to Do Something Glorious
We provide you with your own fundraising website, the ability to invite your friends and family to join your team, and tools to track your progress against your fundraiser goal. It's a great way for you to own a fundraising effort and make a huge and lasting impact in our Tanzanian community. Right now, we're looking for people to help fundraise for our new campus through our Buy A Brick Build a Future Campaign
